IntegriCulture Commissions a New Commercial-Scale “Advanced C-CulNet” System

TOKYO, JAPAN – August 14, 2025 – IntegriCulture Inc. announced that it has installed and commissioned the “Advanced C-CulNet” at its production facility. The new unit is designed for the commercial-scale production of conditioned medium, which is effectively a “cell-cultured serum”.
This launch marks a significant step toward establishing a low-cost, stable production system for culture medium, a key factor in the production cost of cell-cultured foods. The move is set to dramatically advance the industrialization of the cellular agriculture sector.
Background: Overcoming Industry Hurdles
As the global population grows and environmental concerns mount, expectations for cell-cultured food as a sustainable protein source are higher than ever. However, the industry has faced significant barriers to commercialization, primarily due to the high cost of growth factors, insulin and other serum components in culture media, especially under circumstances where bioengineering of cell lines may face regulatory and public acceptance issues.
The new Improved C-CulNet is the culmination of IntegriCulture’s proprietary CulNet® System technology, which utilizes this conditioned medium as a low-cost, stable alternative to animal serum or biopharma growth factors. The newly operational Advanced C-CulNet is the crucial next step, designed specifically to scale this low-cost, serum-free production technology to a commercial level.
Support and Collaboration
The development of this system was supported by a grant from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase 3 Project. IntegriCulture also received valuable technical advice from EBARA CORPORATION.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, IntegriCulture will continue its development efforts to demonstrate the stable, long-term production of high-quality culture supernatant with the new system.About IntegriCulture Inc.
